The United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) is the governing body of Freemasonry in England, Wales, the Channel Islands, and certain other territories. Founded in 1717, it is the oldest Grand Lodge in the world and is considered the "Mother Grand Lodge" of Freemasonry. It has over 200,000 members in nearly 7,000 lodges.
